Shongwe Lookout

Shongwe Lookout is a twenty-three-room lodge set in gardens on the residential edge of Victoria Falls town, roughly one kilometre from the centre and two kilometres from the Falls themselves. The lodge runs a bar, a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, a pool, and a boma area.

The distinguishing feature is a two-platform lookout tower from which you can see the Zambezi River and the spray rising from the Falls. The tower opens early for morning coffee and stays open through the evening for drinks. A pulley-and-intercom system lets you order from below without leaving your vantage point.

Rooms come in three categories: Studio Rooms of twenty-nine square metres with a shower and single or king beds; Deluxe Rooms of twenty-eight square metres with a king bed, bath, and shower; and Executive Rooms of thirty-three square metres with a king bed and shower. All rooms have air conditioning, a fan, mosquito nets, a safe, tea and coffee, a verandah, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Disabled rooms are available.

The restaurant kitchen works from a daily blackboard menu based on local produce. Airport transfers can be arranged. The lodge can assist with activities in the area, including game drives, river cruises, scenic flights, kayaking, elephant-back safaris, and rhino tracking.
