Silvan Safari

Sabi Sand Game Reserve holds Silvan Safari within a stand of leadwood and jackalberry trees, part of the wider Kruger region. The forest canopy shapes the lodge's footprint, and each of the six suites takes its design cues, name, and colour palette from a different tree on the property, from the bushwillow to the wisteria. It is a compact stay. Every suite has a private plunge pool, an outside shower, and a deck facing the bush or a riverbed below. The Leadwood Suite is built for families, with two connected bedrooms and a shared day deck screened by the tree it is named for. Sabi Sand borders Kruger National Park with no fence between them, so game moves freely across both, and the reserve is known for close leopard sightings. Guests join two guided game drives a day with a FGASA-qualified guide, along with walking safaris and rhino tracking on foot. Meals are taken on the lower breakfast deck, in the Modjaji dining room, or under outdoor gazebos, built around locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and a South African wine list that includes the lodge's own Tiyani label. You can hear hippos from the deck after dark. The lodge accommodates up to 14 guests across six suites when booked on an exclusive-use basis, with two Land Rovers assigned solely to that group.
