Sindabezi Island Lodge

Sindabezi Island Camp occupies a private island in the Zambezi River, upstream of Victoria Falls on the Zambian side. The camp has five open-sided thatched cottages — no walls between you and the river air, the floodplain sounds, or the views across the water into the national park beyond. With only five cottages, the island takes very few guests at a time, and the whole property can be reserved for a small group.

The camp runs without connection to the electricity grid. Power comes from solar, which keeps the footprint low and the nights genuinely quiet.

You reach the island by boat from a dedicated launch site on the bank — the transfer is short. From the island you can go out each day for the full range of activities the Victoria Falls area offers: game drives, river trips, walking, and the falls themselves. You return to the island in the evening, away from the town.

The cottages are open to the river on the floodplain side, so the Zambezi is part of the room at all hours. Hippo, elephant, and waterbirds move through the channels around the island regularly. Sindabezi is operated by Green Safaris, the same group that runs Tongabezi Lodge a short distance upstream.
