Singa Town Lodge by Lion Roars Hotels & Lodges

Set in leafy gardens in Summerstrand, Singa Lodge stands a five-minute walk from the beach and close to Port Elizabeth's airport and shops. The city sits at the gateway to the Garden Route and the Eastern Cape safari belt, with the Indian Ocean's Hobie Beach among the nearest stretches of sand. Twelve rooms and suites make up the lodge, split across Luxury King Rooms, Luxury King Suites and Executive King Suites, each individually decorated in a mix of African and Eastern design. It is a small, personal stay. Rooms open onto garden views and come with tea and coffee facilities, air conditioning, a mini bar and a bath alongside the shower. A pool and deck anchor the outdoor space, with an honesty bar for evenings and a lounge fireplace for cooler winter nights. Breakfast is served in a dining room overlooking the pool and gardens; dinner is not offered on site, though nearby restaurants such as Ginger and De Kelder cover the evening. The lodge also runs a conference room and can seat 30 guests for a plated dinner or up to 40 for canapes, making it suited to small weddings and functions as much as leisure stays. Humewood Golf Course, bordering the Indian Ocean, lies a ten-minute drive away. Check-in runs from 2pm.
