Anti-poaching Observation Post Visit
Meet the scouts guarding Grumeti's plains from a hilltop post
Skip to product information
The visit centres on Observation Post 7, one of twelve manned by the Singita Grumeti Fund's 120-strong anti-poaching team across the 350,000-acre concession. Two scouts staff each post for a week at a time, watching constantly for poachers, stray vehicles, cattle incursions or animals in distress. Guests meet the scouts, see how they live and work, and go through an infographic board covering the unit's focus areas and results. OP7 sits atop a hill overlooking the grassy plains, making it a good stop for morning coffee or afternoon drinks. The walk up is steep and unpaved; sturdy shoes are recommended.
