Meet the scouts guarding the Grumeti concession, hilltop views included
Skip to product information
Guests climb a steep dirt path to Observation Post 7, one of twelve posts manned around the clock by the Singita Grumeti Fund's anti-poaching scouts. From this hilltop, two scouts at a time keep watch over the 350,000-acre concession for a week-long shift, spotting poachers, stray cattle or animals in distress. Visitors meet the scouts, see how they live at the post, and learn from an infographic board detailing the unit's work and results. The visit is timed with morning coffee or afternoon drinks, taken in with a wide sunset view over the plains. Good walking shoes are recommended.
