Soneva Kiri

Soneva Kiri sits on the northern end of Koh Kood, a quiet island in Trat province that you reach from Bangkok by private plane in roughly one hour. The resort occupies tropical rainforest that runs down to the beach, and villas are distributed across both the shoreline and the wooded slopes above it.

Twenty-four resort villas and eleven private residences range from one to five bedrooms. Each has a private infinity pool, an outdoor bathroom, a personal electric buggy, and a dedicated butler. Living areas, a pantry, and a minibar are standard throughout. The scale is generous — these are among the larger resort villas in the region.

Dining is spread across several distinct venues. Benz' restaurant is set among the mangroves; the Treetop Dining Pod raises guests into the forest canopy for meals; and a dessert parlour specialising in chocolate and ice cream handles the lighter end of things. Cinema Paradiso is an open-air cinema. The Observatory and The Den round out the property's common spaces.

Wellness facilities include a spa, a Watsu pool, steam rooms, a yoga pavilion, and a gym. Koh Kood's beaches and jungle are accessible directly from the resort, and the island still supports working fishing communities alongside the visitors it now receives.
