Soroi Mara Bush Camp

Along the Olare Orok River in the Maasai Mara, Soroi Mara Bush Camp is set within riverine forest eight minutes by vehicle from Ol Kiombo Airstrip. The camp is unfenced. Maasai morans guard the site at night. Twelve tents accommodate guests—ten with one double and one single bed, two family tents with one double and two singles. Each tent has an en-suite shower, mosquito netting, a writing desk, filtered water, and a deck with chairs. Solar panels power the camp; a backup generator runs when required.

You can hear hippos from the tents after dark. Game drives depart in custom four-wheel-drive vehicles with accredited guides. Walking safaris outside the reserve track spoor and identify smaller species on foot, led by a naturalist and an armed ranger. Bush breakfasts are served on the plains after early drives. Private sundowners set a table and camping chairs in the savannah with spirits, wine, and canapés as the sun drops. Hot-air balloon safaris launch before dawn; the operator collects guests at 5 a.m.

The camp holds a Gold Eco Rating. A campfire area anchors evening gatherings. Children join Maasai-led sessions on beadwork, traditional games, and cooking. Cultural visits to a local Maasai village are arranged through the guide. Laundry service, wireless internet, and filtered drinking water are complimentary. The dining tent caters to all dietary requirements. Private bush dinners for two are set away from the main area, lit by lanterns.
