Soroi Mara Bush Camp Bush Wing

Soroi Mara Bush Camp sits in a riverine forest on the Olare Orok River inside the Maasai Mara, eight minutes by road from Ol Kiombo Airstrip. The camp is unfenced — hippos use the river at the edge of camp, and the wider reserve's lions, leopards, and cheetahs move through the area freely. Maasai warriors stand guard through the night on foot.

Twelve tents are arranged along the river: ten safari tents each sleep two adults and one child, with a king bed, an additional single, an en-suite shower, an outdoor deck, and mosquito nets. Two family tents each sleep up to four adults and share a similar layout. The camp runs on solar power with a backup generator kept out of earshot.

Guides accredited by the Kenya Professional Guides Association lead twice-daily game drives in custom four-wheel-drive vehicles. Additional activities include guided bush walks outside the reserve with an armed ranger, hot air balloon flights arranged through a specialist operator, private bush dinners set away from the main dining tent, sundowner stops in the savanna during the afternoon drive, and a children's programme led by Maasai staff covering cooking, beadwork, and traditional games. A photography studio run in partnership with Nikon offers equipment hire, complimentary classes, and personalized sessions.

The camp holds a Gold Eco Rating and operates community initiatives covering education, healthcare, and local economic support. Guests can join guided tours of the camp's sustainability practices or take part in tree-planting in the Mara ecosystem.
