Steenberg Hotel & Spa

Steenberg Hotel occupies a three-hundred-hectare wine farm in the Constantia Valley, at the foot of Table Mountain, with a scheduled shuttle running guests to the V&A Waterfront. The farm dates to 1682, when Catharina Ras — the first recorded female landowner under the Dutch East India Company at the Cape — secured the land and established what became one of the oldest agricultural estates in the country. The hotel has twenty-four rooms across several categories, from classic rooms tucked into the historic Manor House and old barn, through to spacious superior and family rooms, one-bedroom suites of ninety-seven to one-hundred-and-sixteen square metres, and two private villas — a two-bedroom and a three-bedroom — each with its own heated pool and vineyard views.

On the estate you have two restaurants: Tryn, the main dining room named after Catharina Ras herself, and Bistro Sixteen82, a more relaxed tapas and bistro operation sitting alongside the winery, with a terraced garden. The Steenberg Vineyards Tasting Room is adjacent to the bistro. The spa runs five indoor treatment rooms and three outdoor spaces under old oak trees for warm-weather treatments. An eighteen-hole championship golf course occupies part of the estate. All stays include a flagship wine tasting, breakfast, use of mountain bikes to explore the farm, and access to the hotel pool and thermal suite.
