Swakopmund Guesthouse

Swakopmund Gästehaus sits in the centre of town, a five-minute walk from both the beach and the main shopping street. The Borg family owns and runs the property, and management is on-site throughout the day. The guesthouse runs on solar energy.

Fourteen rooms divide into three categories. Standard rooms have en-suite bathrooms with under-tile heating and air conditioning. Luxury rooms are larger; most can be arranged as family rooms for two adults and two children under thirteen. The three suites each have a separate lounge and a fireplace, with room to add extra beds. The family suite goes further: two bedrooms, a small kitchen and a large lounge, sleeping four or five guests comfortably. Every room comes with a minibar, television, coffee station, and three-point, Euro and USB plug sockets.

The rate includes a breakfast buffet each morning. For a different start to the day, the guesthouse arranges a private beach breakfast for up to four guests: a fifteen-minute walk along the shore brings you to a setup on a small dune above the Atlantic, after which you walk back.

Other services include a complimentary airport shuttle, laundry, wheelchair-accessible rooms, and twenty-four-hour security. Secure parking is on-site. Staff speak Afrikaans, English and German. Activities nearby include sea kayaking, boat cruises, horse riding, paragliding and helicopter scenic flights — all arranged off-site.
