Takamaka Green Village

Takamaka Green Village sits in the green interior of Mahe Island, in the Takamaka district close to Anse Takamaka Beach on the island's southern coast. The restaurant and bar occupy the ground level of a small, informal Seychellois guesthouse — thirteen rooms, locally made furniture, verandas on each — and the kitchen serves the guests staying there as well as visitors passing through.

Breakfast comes out into the garden. The trees and planting around the property are dense enough to give the dining area shade through the morning, and eating outside under that cover is the standard way to start the day here. The restaurant continues through to meals later on, with a bar alongside.

The location does much of the work for the kitchen: Anse Takamaka Beach is within easy reach, and the trailhead for Anse Capucins — a quieter cove used for snorkelling and swimming, with hiking routes above it — is close by. Guests tend to return from the water or the trail and eat on site rather than travel further. Fishing is also possible from the area.

The property is accessible from the main road through the Takamaka district in the Quatre Bornes region of Mahe.
