The Chobe Safari Lodge
Part of Phasec create
The Chobe River runs past the garden wall, and on most afternoons elephant herds and buffalo come down to drink within sight of the lodge's boats. This is the main reason to come to Chobe Safari Lodge in Kasane: immediate, close access to the Chobe National Park by water and by road, from a full-service property that has been doing this since 1959.
Accommodation spreads across two connected properties — Chobe Safari Lodge on the riverbank, and Chobe Bush Lodge set back into the trees next door. Between them there are Safari Rooms, River Rooms, eight original Rondavels with river views, family rooms, Bush Rooms overlooking the park, and a campsite with twenty-three powered stands and ablution blocks. All rooms have air-conditioning, a balcony or deck, Wi-Fi, satellite television, and mosquito netting. Guests move freely between both properties and share all facilities.
The boat cruise is the signature activity — guided double-decker boats that pass hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, and swimming elephants at close range. The lodge also runs game drives into the park, tigerfish angling on the river, private boat hire, scenic flights, and day trips to Victoria Falls roughly ninety kilometres away.
Dining options include the Riverside Restaurant, the Cattle Post Steak House, the Sedudu Bar and Grill for open-fire cooking, and a dinner cruise on the river for groups. Kasane International Airport is a short drive away, with complimentary transfers available.
