The Courtney Lodge

The Courtney Lodge sits on Courtney Crescent in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, roughly two kilometres from the waterfall and within easy walking distance of the town centre. At that distance the sound of the falls carries to the property, and spray reaches it on occasion.

The lodge has ten ensuite rooms, each configured as a super-king or two three-quarter beds. The interiors run to richly coloured accent walls, antique furniture, teak headboards and artisanally plastered showers. Every room has a private veranda; most look onto either the garden and pool or the central courtyard, which has a fountain and an arched entrance. Rooms One and Two face the garden and pool directly. Rooms Three through Eight look onto the courtyard. Rooms Nine and Ten open to their own private garden sections and connect to each other, forming a self-contained family villa. Room One is built to wheelchair-accessible standards with an extra vanity and a wider layout.

The pool sits at the centre of the garden. A bar serves drinks poolside, and the garden is planted for shade. The lodge accepts credit cards, provides complimentary internet access, and all rooms are air-conditioned.

Victoria Falls airport and the main activity operators in town are both within easy reach of Courtney Crescent.
