Set on a private concession within Hwange National Park, The Hide Safari Lodge overlooks a waterhole that draws elephant, buffalo, lion, giraffe, zebra, kudu, impala, and waterbuck throughout the day. The main camp holds ten deluxe tents, each with an en-suite bathroom, private veranda, fan, and a choice of indoor or outdoor bath and shower. Tom's Little Hide is a four-room safari house with its own lounge, dining room, and pool, accommodating up to eight adults and two children. The Private Hide comprises tents five through seven, each with exclusive use of a dining room, lounge, and swimming pool, plus a dedicated guide and vehicle.
An underground hide accessed from the main lodge gives eye-level views of animals at the waterhole. Guided walks depart morning and afternoon with a professional guide. Day and night game drives run through the concession and the wider park, tracking predators and herds across open woodland and grassland. Hwange records over four hundred bird species, among them Bradfield's hornbill, southern ground hornbill, yellow-billed oxpecker, carmine bee-eater, and bateleur eagle. The Dove's Nest treehouse, ten minutes from camp, is available at no charge for stays of three nights or longer. You can hear the birds before first light. The lodge is a founding member of the Conservation & Wildlife Fund and supports Friends of Hwange, which maintains waterholes across the park year-round.
