Beach Ocean View

This thirty-square-metre room sits directly on Jambiani's white sand, with a private veranda facing the Indian Ocean and the infinity pool, where meals can be served on request. Built by Italian designer Sandro Gurioli using natural lime and wood rather than reinforced concrete, it pairs Stone Town-inspired architecture with African interiors made from recycled materials and paintings by young Tanzanian artists. Inside, a king-size bed sits under a large mosquito net beneath a ceiling fan, cooled by the Ocean's natural breeze. Water is solar-heated, lighting runs on low-power LEDs, and the room includes free Wi-Fi, a safe-deposit box and television.
