Game Drives
Open 4x4 drives through leopard country, day into night
Skip to product information
Drives leave from Kakuli in open Land Cruisers or Land Rovers, with no more than six guests aboard so everyone keeps a window seat. Afternoon drives often run on into night drives, pausing at sunset before continuing after dark with a spotlight, when genets, civets, elephant shrews, porcupines and honey-badgers are most likely to appear, along with active predators. Night birding turns up nightjars, owls, dikkop and bat hawk. South Luangwa's terrain of rivers and forests supports leopard, lion, elephant, hippo and crocodile. Above it all, the Milky Way shows clearly, free of light pollution, under the Southern Cross and Orion.
