Ugab Game Farm & Lodge

Ugab Game Farm & Lodge sits on a 9,800-hectare private reserve next to the Ugab River, one hundred kilometres southwest of Outjo and two kilometres from the Vingerklip rock formation. The lodge was completed in 2022 and holds eight rooms across several categories: Standard Luxury, Superior Luxury, Luxury Twin, Family, and Standard. Superior Luxury rooms face the waterhole and open landscape; the private outside area includes two outdoor showers, a bathtub, and a boma, and you can have the bed moved outside to sleep under the open sky.

The reserve carries over 860 animals — white rhino, oryx, giraffe, sable, roan, kudu, nyala, eland, impala, springbok, and both golden and blue wildebeest, among others. Three named white rhinos move near the main lodge and are visible from the waterhole area, the fire pit, and the Superior Luxury rooms. The lodge also runs a private 500-hectare breeding camp.

Activities include a three-hour nature drive that ends with a sundowner stop on a hilltop viewpoint and a braai in the dry riverbed; a rock art excursion covering San paintings and engravings; guided game walks for guests aged sixteen and above; a morning nature hike through the breeding camp and along the Ugab riverbed; hide sitting with a guide; and scenic flights over the valley, which require pre-booking with a minimum of two persons.

The main building seats eighteen indoors and fourteen outside, with a bar, leather-furnished lounge, and a pool with loungers and a Martini seat. Breakfast is served as buffet, continental, or full cooked each morning.
