Veranda Palmar Beach Hotel

Veranda Palmar Beach sits directly on Palmar beach on the east coast of Mauritius, facing a calm lagoon across two kilometres of sand. It operates on an all-inclusive basis and is designed around beach and water activity — the kind of place where the day is organised around the lagoon and the evening around food and live music.

Rooms come in three types: standard Comfort rooms overlooking the pool or garden, upstairs Comfort Seaview rooms with a view over the lagoon, and Comfort Beachfront rooms a few steps from the sand. All are fitted in a retro Creole style — woven vacoas headboards, jute carpets, rattan chairs, and pastel walls with light-coloured wood. Each room has a balcony or patio.

The main restaurant, Regatta, serves international and Mauritian buffet at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The smaller Horizons beach restaurant seats forty and serves grilled seafood and Mauritian dishes à la carte at lunch and dinner. The BarAcuda, at the pool's edge, pours cocktails and local rum and serves pancakes in the afternoon.

Free activities in the lagoon include kayaks, stand-up paddle, pedal boats, windsurfing, snorkelling, and a glass-bottom boat. Kitesurfing, PADI diving, parasailing, deep-sea fishing, and catamaran excursions are available at extra cost. Bicycles can be borrowed from reception for rides along the coast toward Belle Mare. The Timomo kids' club runs supervised beach and pool activities for children. The Seven Colours spa has two treatment rooms and a sauna.
