Victoria Falls Backpackers Lodge sits in a garden two and a half kilometres from the Falls, on the edge of Zambezi National Park. Elephants pass through the grounds; lions and hyenas are audible in the early morning. The area is quiet, which is the main reason to stay here rather than closer to town.

Accommodation runs from thatched en-suite doubles and twins to a safari tent with a separate bathroom, three dormitories — the Attic sleeps twelve, the Elephant Dorm sleeps six, the Hippo Dorm sleeps three — and two camping options: a pitch for a self-drive vehicle or a bare tent site. Thatched rooms come with mosquito nets, a fan, and good linen; the camping pitches and dorms share access to a communal kitchen. A pool and a fireplace sit at the centre of the garden.

The lodge runs an activities desk that books and arranges transport for the full range of Victoria Falls activities: river cruises, scenic flights, game drives, elephant-back safaris, guided walks, canoeing, and horse-riding, among others. All bookings include a transfer to and from the lodge. An airport shuttle is also available.

Wifi is included across the property. Laundry and secure parking are on site. The lodge is a short taxi ride from Victoria Falls town, and the desk can arrange vehicles on request. Visitors are advised to travel with cash, as card payment is not always reliable in Zimbabwe.
