Viroth's Villa

Set around a pool framed by tropical planting, Viroth's Villa keeps its rooms cool and low-lit behind mid-century lines of concrete and timber. Built in 2007 as the first of the Viroth family's properties, the villa holds just seven rooms, ranging from a deluxe double to a junior suite looking onto the pool. Furnishings run to clean, retro shapes rather than ornament, with air conditioning, Wi-Fi and a mini bar as standard. It is a compact stay. Breakfast runs each morning with French pastries and noodle soup alongside eggs and fruit, and lunch moves poolside before dinner in the hotel's retro-styled dining room. The bar sits close to the water and serves cocktails made with local ingredients and fresh tropical juice, turning into a low-key lounge after dark. A small spa on site offers Khmer and aromatherapy massages, herbal compresses and body scrubs using rice, mango and turmeric. Old Town Siem Reap surrounds the villa on the east bank of the Siem Reap River, within walking distance of the Old Market, Central Market, restaurants and Viroth's own Oko Gallery across the street. The Angkor temples lie a short drive beyond the town, and staff arrange private tours by car or vintage limousine. You can hear the pool from most rooms after the shops close for the evening. Check-in and check-out follow standard hotel hours, with early or late arrangements made on request.
