Vista Los Sueños Adventure Park Canyoning + Horseback Riding
Ten minutes from Jacó Beach and Los Sueños Resort in Puntarenas, this combined tour pairs a two-hour horseback ride with a canyoning circuit on the same river canyon.
The horseback portion moves through forest and riverside terrain. Your bilingual guide points out trees and plants along the way, and the area supports scarlet macaws, white-faced monkeys, and toucans — though sightings are not guaranteed on every run.
The canyoning section covers three waterfall rappels, a jump from a three-metre platform into the river, and a slide down a natural rock chute in the riverbed. Fruits and energy bars are provided during this portion. The combination means you spend the first half in the saddle and the second half in the water, so you need gear for both: long trousers and closed shoes for riding, water shoes and swimming clothes for the canyon. Water shoes are mandatory on the canyoning section.
The tour includes bilingual guides, all safety equipment, insurance, fruit, and water. A waterproof phone or camera is useful for the canyon; sunblock and insect repellent are worth packing regardless of which section you are on.
