Wilderness Chitabe – Night Drives

Drives that begin in late afternoon and run into evening, using spotlights to pick out animals rarely seen by day. Civets, genets and bushbabies move through the undergrowth, owls take up perches overhead, and leopard sightings are a real possibility. Guides know the Chitabe concession well, and the wildlife here is notably relaxed around vehicles, the result of years of careful, unhurried viewing. It is a different rhythm to the daytime drive, quieter and slower, with the bush revealed piece by piece under torchlight rather than all at once.
