Wilderness Linkwasha – Night Drives
Once the sun drops over Linkwasha's plains, a spotlit drive sets out to find the animals that stay hidden by day. Guides scan the woodland edges and floodplain margins for pangolin, caracal, porcupine and Selous mongoose, along with lesser bushbaby, spotted hyena, springhare, scrub hare and, on a good night, honey badger. These are creatures rarely encountered on a standard daytime circuit. The drive runs from camp through the same mix of teak woodland and open grassland covered by day, but the darkness changes everything: shapes, sounds and eyes catching torchlight from the roadside grass.
