Wilderness Little Kulala

Set on the Auab riverbed in the 27,000-hectare Kulala Wilderness Reserve, the camp lies sixty kilometres from Sesriem with a private gate into Namib-Naukluft National Park. Eleven suites occupy the dry watercourse, each with a private plunge pool, climate control, and a rooftop sleeping platform under open sky. The décor mirrors the desert palette—grey and pink limestone, ochre sand—with indoor and outdoor showers, a sala deck, and materials chosen for airflow in summer heat. One family unit holds two bedrooms. A central bar, library, spa treatment room, and pool anchor the property.

The private gate opens before the public entrance at Sesriem, allowing guided drives to reach Sossusvlei and Deadvlei at first light. Big Daddy dune rises over three hundred metres; climbers reach the ridge as the sun strikes the iron-red sand. Guided walks on the reserve track oryx, springbok, bat-eared fox, and brown hyena across gravel plains and fossil dunes. Quad-bike and electric fat-bike excursions cross low-impact trails; a three-kilometre night walk uses UV torches to reveal scorpions and white lady spiders. Hot-air balloon flights launch from the reserve at dawn, drifting over the Sand Sea and fairy circles before a champagne breakfast on the desert floor. Sesriem Canyon, thirty metres deep and carved over millennia, lies a short drive away. You can sleep on your rooftop platform under the Namib's unpolluted sky, with stars visible horizon to horizon.
