Wilderness Mombo sits on Mombo Island in Moremi Game Reserve, inside the Okavango Delta. Chief's Island lies close by to the south. The camp holds eight canvas suites raised off the ground on platforms, each facing a floodplain where plains game — elephant, buffalo, antelope, and large prides of lion — gather in front of camp. The Bayei people of the region call this area the place of plenty, and the wildlife density reflects that: during summer, when prey species are raising young, predator concentrations are particularly high. Wild dog, cheetah, pangolin, and honey badger also move through the area, and the Delta supports over four hundred bird species.

Each suite has a separate bedroom and lounge, en-suite bathroom, indoor and outdoor showers, a copper bathtub, and a private plunge pool and sala on a wrap-around deck. A family suite accommodates four, with a double and twin beds and its own pool. Game drives use open four-by-four vehicles with a maximum of four guests per vehicle, so every seat is a window seat. Bush brunches are served in the field after morning drives, using locally sourced ingredients. Traditional dinners are held at the camp boma.

Mombo shares a spa, gym, lap pool, and safari boutique with the adjacent Wilderness Little Mombo camp. Helicopter scenic flights are available at an additional cost. On the property, a baobab conservation project protects twenty-six young trees, each fenced with log-piles and wire mesh while they establish.

The camp is accessible by light aircraft, landing on the nearby airstrip.
