Wilderness Shumba – Night Drives
Busanga Plains after dark, with genet, civet and owls
Skip to product information
Led by a guide who knows the Busanga Plains after sunset, night drives reveal a nocturnal cast rarely seen on daytime outings. Spotlights pick out genet and civet moving through the grass, owls perched low, and, on occasion, a leopard working the treeline. The Plains, flat and open, make tracking easier than in thicker bush, and the guide reads eyes and movement to work out what's ahead. It's a slower, quieter version of a game drive, built around patience and a torch beam rather than speed. Warm clothing is worth packing, as temperatures drop fast once the sun is gone.
