Zambezi Mubala Lodge Gondwana Collection Namibia

On the Zambezi River forty kilometres east of Katima Mulilo, the lodge occupies a stretch of bank in the Zambezi Region. Twenty-one bungalows descend the slope in clusters of twin, double, and family configurations; all face the river through private balconies. Interiors follow a palette drawn from the name: mubala means colour in Silozi, and walls and fabrics reflect the blues and greens of water and vegetation. Each bungalow has an en-suite shower, mosquito nets, air-conditioning, a small fridge, and tea and coffee service.

Boat cruises depart at sunrise or mid-afternoon for three-hour runs past heron, pelican, egret, lesser flamingo, and African fish eagle. Sunset cruises launch ninety minutes before dark and include refreshments and light snacks. Guided fishing trips take two per boat; tackle and bait are provided; catch-and-release only. Target species include catfish, tilapia, nembwe, and tigerfish. A seasonal guided walk reaches the Carmine Bee-eater colony on foot; the three-hour route crosses the immediate riverine landscape. Excursions to Victoria Falls — 215 kilometres to the east — can be arranged at reception.

A restaurant, bar, curio shop, and cold-water swimming pool anchor the main area. WiFi is available at reception. Secure parking sits on site. Transfers run to and from Mpacha Airport in Katima Mulilo, fifty kilometres west.
