Zannier Sonop

Zannier Sonop sits in the Karas Region at the southern edge of the Namib desert, on Sonop Farm along Road D707. The camp's ten tents are built directly on granite boulders, which sets each one above the desert floor and gives the canvas roll-up openings a long, uninterrupted view over red sand and dry grass.

The one-bedroom tents cover forty-two square metres each, with a four-poster king bed, a living area with armchairs, a desk, and a telescope. Bathrooms have a large bathtub, rain shower, and double vanity. Two-bedroom tents measure seventy-five square metres with two en-suite bedrooms and a shared living room. Every tent is furnished with antiques, wooden pieces, and patterned carpets.

Two nature drives run each day — morning and afternoon — included in the all-inclusive rate. Other activities include guided and self-guided walking trails, horse riding from the camp's stables along dune ridges, electric fat-bike trails, group yoga, stargazing sessions on the main deck, and an open-air cinema beside the pool on a screen four and a half metres wide. Day excursions run to Sossusvlei, and hot air balloon and helicopter flights are available. Private breakfasts and dinners on the Sonop Dune can be arranged.

Each evening the communal dining tent serves a five-course dinner; smaller tables are also available for parties who prefer not to dine communally. The camp also has a spa, a pool, a bar, and a gym. The area is malaria-free.
