4x4 Fynbos Nature Drives

Set across 600 hectares of fynbos above Sedgefield, the drive climbs into indigenous scrub on an open 4x4 vehicle. Guides point out the plants along the way, from proteas to aromatic herbs used for centuries in local medicine. The terrain is low and dense rather than dramatic, and the reward is closer to the ground: leaf, seed pod, root, the logic of a landscape built entirely from small, tough plants. It runs for a few hours. Binoculars are worth bringing.
