Built as the first dedicated LGBT resort in Puerto Vallarta's Romantic Zone, Almar occupies two towers on Los Muertos Beach. The property opened as an adults-only beachfront hotel; 138 suites now fill the Almar Tower and the Mantamar Tower, every unit facing the Pacific. Each suite includes a private terrace or balcony. Bathrooms carry rainfall shower heads and L'Occitane toiletries; beds are dressed in cotton sheets and goose feather pillows. The Almar Tower climbs to a thirteenth-floor rooftop: The Top Sky Bar serves cocktails with city and ocean views. Mantamar Tower suites descend from the fifth floor to ground level, where the Eden Pool & Lounge Garden connects directly to Mantamar Beach Club on the sand. The beach club hosts parties with resident and visiting DJs; cabanas line the shore. Junior suites across both towers include kitchenettes and terraces with partial or full ocean views. The Grand Almar suite adds a jetted tub and a larger terrace. Mantamar Front Row suites sit closest to the beach-club action and include private hot tubs. The Eden Garden Suite overlooks the fifth-floor garden pool rather than the ocean. Studio Double Queen units in the Mantamar Tower offer two queen beds. Wellness facilities gather under the 888 Connection Wellness brand: Studio 8 Fitness Lifestyle gym and BeatRoot Energy Bar operate on site. The resort sits in the Romantic Zone, locally termed Puerto Vallarta's Gayborhood, one block inland from the sand.
