Au Chalet en Bois Rond

Set in Sainte-Christine-d'Auvergne, forty-five minutes above Québec and an hour below Trois-Rivières, Au Chalet en Bois Rond is a log-built village of eighty chalets on a sixty-five-thousand-acre private forest. Chalets range from one-bedroom pioneer cabins to six-bedroom lodges. The smallest sleeps two; the largest, twenty. Each has a private outdoor spa, full kitchen, dining room, living room, and wood stove or stone hearth. Select chalets offer lakeside or river frontage, private beaches, saunas, and air-conditioning. The Étincelle accommodates forty guests across six bedrooms and five bathrooms.

The Pavillon d'Activités at the Espace Plein Air anchors on-site rental and reception. Summer launches include kayaks, canoes, pedal boats, paddleboards, fatbikes, and golf carts. Lac des Loutres has a beach and play module. A marina offers trout fishing. Personal watercraft are prohibited on the lakes to prevent invasive species; the débarcadère on Rivière Sainte-Anne permits private kayaks and canoes. Winter stock includes snowshoes, ice-fishing gear, tube slides, hockey and oval rinks with skate rental, and cold-weather suits—coat, trousers, boots, mittens—at thirty dollars per person. Dog-sled outings and guided snowmobile excursions depart from the pavillon. Trails thread the property year-round. Wireless internet, barbecue stands, and massage services are available. You can hear the river from select decks.
