Auberge Rozendal Guesthouse

Founded in 1913 at the foot of the Jonkershoek valley, Rozendal Farm has kept its working rhythm while adding rooms for guests. The old farmhouse still anchors the property, its upper floor now split into two apartments set beneath oak trees planted long before the current owners arrived. Ten Country Studios sit together on a gentle slope, each with a kitchenette, a private patio, and a view across pastures and old vineyards to the Stellenbosch mountains. Family apartments add a full kitchen and a sleeper couch for children. The Farm House West apartment is the largest, with two bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, and a kitchen that opens onto a balcony framed by mountain views. Beyond the rooms, the farm runs on its own terms. A walled garden grows herbs for the vinegar cellar, where red wine ferments slowly in small oak barrels alongside handpicked botanicals. One limited edition, matured across three barrels over 25 years, is hand-labelled by edition. Trails climb through olive groves and fynbos toward the Botmaskop nature reserve, with views back over the winelands. A pantry shop near the gardens sells produce grown on site. Guests can walk the grounds, book a private cellar tour, or simply sit on the veranda as the sun drops behind Simonsberg.
