Basecamp Mara Houses

Log fires burn in open-plan lounges where verandahs frame a waterhole frequented by zebra and waterbuck. Three houses occupy a valley in Mara North Conservancy: Mara House and Acacia House sleep six each in three bedrooms, Dik Dik House sleeps four in two. Mara House holds three en-suite bedrooms. Acacia House pairs one ground-floor double with en-suite bathroom alongside a shared-bathroom double and an attic room suited to children. Dik Dik House offers one en-suite double and one twin with shared bathroom. Each house books on an exclusive-use basis and operates with its own guide, chef, house manager, room steward, and waiter. A private safari vehicle remains assigned to your group throughout the stay. Game drives run on your schedule — morning, afternoon, full-day, or after dark when nocturnal species emerge. Night drives are permitted in Mara North but not in the adjacent National Reserve. Walking safaris with a Maasai guide cross the conservancy. Bush breakfasts unfold beside the Mara River; sundowners take place on high ground as light fades. The Ol Chorro rhino sanctuary lies 30 minutes away; white rhino roam the slopes and you approach on foot. A shared pool and bar overlook the waterhole. Hot-air balloon flights lift before dawn. The Great Migration herds cross the Mara from July through October.
