Blue Lagoon Resort
Coconut palms and tropical vegetation frame the chalets that sit along a lagoon shore in the coastal town of Kalpitiya. The resort comprises fourteen chalets and three standard rooms. Double chalets contain two double beds and measure 76 m²; triple chalets carry one single and one double bed across 84 m². Family chalets span 102 m² and accommodate up to six, fitted with one extra-large double and two large double beds. Each chalet includes a hot tub, tea and coffee facilities, and a private patio. Standard rooms range from 64 m² and hold one double bed, two double beds, or one single and one double bed; all have air-conditioning, a private entrance, and en-suite bathrooms with shower and bidet.
The on-site restaurant serves Sri Lankan rice and curry, grilled seafood, and international dishes daily from 7am to 11pm. An outdoor pool overlooks the lagoon. Kitesurfing instruction operates from the resort; guided dolphin and whale watching tours depart by boat into open water. Staff arrange lagoon kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. Mangrove boat tours explore the coastal wetland ecosystem. Mountain biking and cycling routes run through the surrounding area. The property has been operating for over twenty years. Secure parking, free Wi-Fi, and concierge service are provided. Bandaranaike International Airport lies 138 km away; a paid shuttle service runs by arrangement.
