Cap Rocat

Set into thick stone walls once built for defence, Cap Rocat keeps the outline of the fortress it was. Antonio Obrador refurbished the building without altering its original architecture, so the rooms sit inside walls designed for a different purpose entirely. Floors are heated. Terraces look straight out to sea, and several rooms open onto four-poster beds, while the suites carry private pools and vaulted ceilings overhead. Bathrooms are marble, finished with bathrobes and slippers. Every room has Wi-Fi, a flat-screen television, and a Nespresso machine, with room service available on request. Outside, a swimming pool and sun terrace face the water, and the hotel opens directly onto the sea itself. You can walk from the terrace straight into the bay. The result is a stay that reads as quiet and fortified at once, stone walls holding rooms finished in marble and heated floors, a military plan repurposed for rest rather than watch. It sits in the most secluded stretch of the bay of Palma, away from the town centre, with the sea as its only near neighbour.
