Coorg Wilderness Resort
Launched by Paul John Resorts & Hotels as its fourth property, Coorg Wilderness Resort & Spa sits on hillside grounds in Madikeri, Karnataka, 4 kilometres from the town centre. The parent company also operates Kumarakom Lake Resort beside Vembanad Lake in Kerala, The Paul Bangalore, and Forte Kochi. Four suite categories range from 870 to 1,350 square feet. All suites run without air-conditioning; bed warmers provide supplemental heat during cooler months. Wilderness Grove View Suites and Wilderness Hill View Suites measure 870 square feet and open onto private balconies. Grand Grove View Suites and Grand Hill View Suites each measure 1,350 square feet with bay windows and bathtubs. Every suite includes a French press and Paul John Coffee, a minibar with one complimentary restocking, and 55-inch LED television.
Habba restaurant seats 150 and serves Italian, American, pan-Asian, and Indian dishes at tables overlooking valleys. Vembanad specialises in Coorg and Kerala coastal cuisine. Pachacurry offers regional Indian vegetarian menus. The Hunters Lounge stocks cocktails, wines, and whiskies. A guided coffee experience traces cultivation to cup in a walk through estate plantings. The Twitchers Trek departs at dawn with a naturalist; over 350 bird species have been recorded in Coorg's forests. Guided yoga sessions run on the Nikaay rooftop. A wilderness walk with the naturalist leaves mid-morning. Adventure activities include rock climbing, zip-lining, and ATV rides. The infinity pool faces valleys and trees.
