DEVOCEAN Lodge

DEVOCEAN Lodge sits at Ponta do Ouro, the southernmost point of Mozambique, where the coastline borders the protected marine zone of Maputo National Park. The beach is a short walk from the lodge, and local markets, shops, and cafés are close enough to reach on foot.

Rooms are thatched and practically fitted: fan, shower, private bathroom, private terrace, tea and coffee, a minibar, and a safe. The lodge runs on a communal model — shared lounge areas and a dining room where a resident chef produces breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day. Guests tend to eat together and debrief on what they found in the water.

The water is the main draw. Dive centres operate nearby, and the lodge arranges scuba diving, wild dolphin encounters, whale watching, and turtle tracking — the last two tied to seasonal animal movements along this stretch of coast. On land, quad bikes are available for hire, and both guided and self-guided walks cover the coastal forests and the surrounding hills. Secure parking is on-site, and the lodge accepts credit cards.
