Makalani palm trees rise above the courtyard garden that the eight guest rooms encircle. Each room carries the name of a species found on the farm — Kudu, Zebra, Giraffe, Suricate — and opens onto the courtyard or the surrounding bush. Air conditioning, mosquito nets, and en-suite showers with separate toilets are standard. The Oryx suite occupies two storeys outside the courtyard; the upper level holds twin beds with views over the farm. Kudu converts to a family unit with one or two extra beds. Suricate adds wheelchair access.
The farm lies near Grootfontein in northern Namibia, two hours by road from the east entrance of Etosha National Park. Cattle graze alongside giraffe, kudu, eland, oryx, warthog, and dik-dik; game drives and night drives run across the property in open vehicles. You can spend a day accompanying farmhands through their work, or join a half-day excursion to a San village in the Grashoek community, where visitors learn bow-and-arrow hunting and jewellery-making. A swimming pool, tennis court, and table-tennis table occupy the grounds. The wood-fired grill prepares beef from the farm's Simmentaler and Angus herds, antelope from the land, and pizza baked in a stone oven. Vegetables, herbs, and fruit come from the on-site garden. Homemade jams and juices appear at breakfast. Meals are served on the terrace or by the open fire, depending on the weather. The Hoba meteorite and Otjikoto Lake lie within day-trip range.
