Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge
Thirty plantation chalets in a working Arusha coffee estate minutes from Kilimanjaro International Airport
Set on a working coffee plantation at the foot of Mount Meru outside Arusha, the lodge occupies 30 wooden chalets radiating into the estate's arabica fields. The property is built around a homestead dating to the early 1900s. Eighteen Plantation Rooms hold en suite bathrooms with bath and shower, verandahs facing the coffee groves, and in-room log fires; eight are doubles, four twins, six triples. Twelve larger Plantation Suites add private outdoor terraces with log fires, rainfall showers, separate bathtubs, and 32-inch satellite televisions. All rooms carry coffee-plantation themes in fabric and furniture. The main house holds Bacchus restaurant, 3° South café bistro, a lounge with open fires, and a garden terrace. The estate runs bean-to-cup tours that follow arabica from tree through drying, roasting, and tasting. Five boutiques within the Traders Walk sell crafts, jewellery, and locally roasted coffee; Shanga workshop transforms recycled glass and materials into jewellery and art. A spa offers massage, facials, and body treatments. The pool sits within walled gardens. Day trips reach Arusha National Park on the slopes of Mount Meru, where birdlife and varied topography occupy 137 km². Complimentary wireless internet, laundry service, and 24-hour security are standard.
