Elewana Loisaba Tented Camp

Elewana Loisaba Tented Camp stands at the rim of an escarpment in Loisaba Conservancy, Laikipia, with a clear, unobstructed view across the plains to Mt Kenya. The conservancy is a working ranch managed in partnership with The Nature Conservancy and Space for Giants, running conservation, community programmes, and tourism alongside active ranching. Elephant move through on a migration corridor; lion, Grevy's zebra, and wild dog are all present.

The camp holds twelve tented suites. Each tent is seven by seven metres, built with full-length glazed doors that open the interior to the view, timber floors, and tall ceilings that keep the space cool. Bathrooms have a double-basin vanity and a rainfall shower fed by solar-heated water. Three family combinations each pair a double tent with a convertible twin or double tent joined by a walkway; one of these combinations, plus a separate tent, has access to a second private infinity pool. The main infinity pool, dining room, lounge, bar, and open deck all face the escarpment panorama.

Game drives run twice daily in custom Land Rover vehicles, including at night. Other activities include guided walking safaris of two or four hours, horse riding through zebra and giraffe herds on horses raised in the bush, camel trekking along the Ewaso Nyiro river, mountain biking and e-biking on conservancy trails, and fishing at dams where hippos are regularly present. Cultural visits to a local Samburu community are offered, with a fee going directly to that community. The conservancy's anti-poaching sniffer dog unit — four named dogs with their handler team — can be visited, with a donation supporting the programme. Helicopter safaris are available on request.
