Farmstead at Royal Malewane

Farmstead at Royal Malewane sits around a working waterhole in the Greater Kruger area of Limpopo, south of Malewane Lodge. Because the waterhole draws animals continuously, game viewing from the lodge itself is reliable — elephant, lion, and the rest of the Big Five move through the area without a fence to redirect them.

The property has three Luxury Farm Suites, each with a private heated plunge pool, a front and back verandah, an outdoor shower, air conditioning, and a full mini bar. They sit on either side of a central lodge area where all meals are served through the day. The fourth accommodation is Farmhouse, a four-bedroom exclusive-use villa with its own chef, private safari vehicle, and a dedicated guide and tracker. One of the four bedrooms is smaller, suited to children; children of all ages are welcome there. Booking all three suites alongside Farmhouse takes the property to fourteen guests and makes an exclusive-use arrangement possible.

Guides and trackers go out on game drives and night drives, run guided bush walks, and lead dedicated birding safaris — the reserve records over three hundred bird species, from the grey penduline tit to the lappet-faced vulture. Rhino tracking and photographic safaris are available on site; scenic helicopter flights, boat cruises, and a round at Leopard Creek golf course can be arranged off site. Spa treatments are available at Farmstead itself or at the Royal Waters Spa, a ten-minute drive away.
