Built of wood and thatch beneath tall trees, Finfoot Lake Reserve occupies ground within the Elands River Game Reserve near Vaalkop Dam, 90 minutes by road from Johannesburg. The property holds 31 units across four categories. Eighteen chalets each sleep two in twin or king configuration; bush chalets accommodate two adults and two children under 16 with twin-to-king beds and a sleeper couch. Three luxury safari tents range from two to three bedrooms, the larger holding up to eight guests. A four-bedroom self-catering villa sleeps ten, with a loft for children and two master en-suites fitted with baths and outdoor showers.
The main thatched lapa houses the bar, lounge, and dining area; its open sides catch the breeze. A sun deck steps down to two swimming pools. The spa offers massage and aromatherapy treatments. Guided game drives and bush walks depart daily with a ranger; night drives track nocturnal species including jackal, genet, and caracal.
