Futangue Hotel & Spa

Arriving at Futangue means entering a private reserve first and a hotel second: the property sits inside a protected stretch of Valdivian forest at the foot of the Andes, on the shore of Lake Ranco in Chile's Los Ríos region. Puyehue National Park lies close by, its volcanic terrain visible on clear days. The hotel itself holds 26 rooms across two buildings, built from native timber in a style borrowed from the barns and stables once common to southern Chile. Superior Rooms run 26 m², with leather furnishings and timber panelling; Suites add a small sitting area across 35 m². A separate building, Exploradores, stands 120 m from the main hotel and shares its restaurant and spa. Bathrooms throughout use organic toiletries made from forest berries and flowers native to the region. Textiles draw on Mapuche design and local artists, woven into the rooms rather than left as decoration. Guests can fish, kayak, cycle or ride out from the property, with guided walks into the reserve most mornings. The spa and pool sit within the same forest setting, open to guests from both buildings. It is a quiet, working base for exploring the lake and the mountains beyond it. Check-in runs from 3pm, checkout at noon.
