Grande Roche Hotel
Set at the foot of Paarl Rock on a working wine estate in the Western Cape, Grande Roche Hotel occupies historic Cape colonial buildings with thatched roofs and views across vineyards to the Drakenstein mountains. The 31-suite property is a five-star hotel and declared historical monument. Eighteen Terrace Suites are grouped in threes across the gardens, each built with shutters, open thatch, and a private terrace covered in trailing vines; lounges and bedrooms face the vineyard rows.

Five Heritage duplex suites occupy the restored workers' quarters—Java, Jasmijn, Batavia, Malabaar, and Koljanner—with a ground-floor lounge that accommodates extra beds and an upstairs bedroom in twin or king configuration. Six Legacy Rooms sit in the former coach and carriage houses, each a studio with a lounge-bedroom and semi-private garden terrace; one is adapted for disabled guests. The Garden Suite, converted from the original farm stable, holds a separate lounge, king bedroom, bathroom with double shower and spa bath, and a private rooftop terrace.

The Grande Roche Restaurant serves breakfast and dinner daily and weekend lunch in the Manor House. Winnifred's offers all-day dining, including salads, toasties, and high tea with finger sandwiches and bao buns. The Kraal Pool is a family pool with a bar. A petite three-hundred-year-old chapel hosts intimate ceremonies. The estate includes a conference venue set in the vineyards, tennis and pickleball courts, and manicured gardens with pathways linking the suites. Paarl's wine farms and golf courses lie nearby.
