Canvas walls frame the Talek River from every suite at Ishara Mara. Seven River Suites, two Family Suites, and one Villa Suite stand within the Masai Mara National Reserve, each opening onto the river, forest, or savanna. The Villa Suite joins two River Suites around a central living space with a heated infinity pool and fire deck. Family Suites hold two inter-leading tents, one with king or twin beds, the other with two queen beds. Vintage bathtubs face the river; outdoor showers stand beneath fig trees.
The Canon Brand Experience Centre supplies professional cameras, lenses, binoculars, editing suites, and photo printers at no charge. Resident photographers lead instruction and accompany drives. A photography studio overlooks the plains. The Starbed is a raised open-air platform above the river, reached by elevated walkway, with views across the floodplain. Aya Spa occupies two treatment rooms among the canopy, one for exfoliation and signature therapies, the other with Vichy shower. A sauna, cold plunge, and hot tub look over the Posee Plains. A yoga and meditation deck, heated outdoor pool, and gym with panoramic windows complete the wellness circuit.
Chef Isaac Muhika, who brings 30 years of industry experience, leads the kitchen. Meals draw from the aeroponic tower farm and garden. Bush breakfasts, al fresco lunches in the garden, wood-fired pizza, and candlelit dinners on the Observation Deck rotate through the week. The Pangolin Cellar, adjacent to the bar, stocks South African and international reserves. Game drives depart in private Land Cruisers with guides and trackers. Walking safaris and night drives operate year-round. A waterhole constructed by the lodge attracts elephant, buffalo, and migrating herds. Maasai naturalists lead spear-throwing, beading workshops, and guided walks around camp. Laundry, wireless internet, and mini-bar are complimentary.
