Set in the hot-spring town of Ōwani, 50 minutes by train from Aomori Airport, KAI Tsugaru occupies 40 rooms and suites across a northern Japan ryokan. Accommodation includes Western-style bedrooms with living areas and rooms paired with private outdoor thermal baths. Signature rooms carry ornamentation worked in Koginzashi, the traditional Tsugaru needle technique of geometric stitching. Each room holds a television, telephone, electric kettle, fridge, safe, hairdryer, and a bidet-function toilet.

The ryokan restaurant serves breakfast and dinner, both built on Tsugaru culinary culture; no Western menu is offered. Dishes are accompanied by a selection of Aomori sake. Shared facilities include two hot-spring bath halls fed by the thermal source beneath Ōwani. A lounge provides local beverages. A travel library stocks regional reference, and a shop sells essentials. Staff stage live Tsugaru shamisen—the percussive three-string lute native to the prefecture—each evening in the public areas. The performance sits beneath a large mural. In winter, guests may walk to outdoor kamakura snow huts. Check-in opens at three o'clock; departure is by noon.
