Fifteen thatched suites and seven private-pool villas track Big Five herds across Kapama's southern
Established in the extreme south of Kapama Private Game Reserve, the camp sits within indigenous forest on a 15,000-hectare concession that extends toward the Greater Kruger area. Fifteen thatched suites occupy forest clearings; birdsong carries through picture windows that frame the canopy. Each suite includes an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, a minibar, and a private patio for sundowners within sight of passing game. Seven stand-alone villas add private lap pools, open-plan bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers, and espresso machines. Three family villas connect a main bedroom to a separate children's room via an enclosed link, each child space fitted with its own bath, shower, double vanity, and outside patio.
Twice-daily game drives depart in open vehicles with a ranger and tracker who read spoor and position sightings for clear viewing across lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo territory. Bush walks led by a trained ranger teach traditional tracking—footprints, scat, medicinal plants—at walking pace. A romantic sleep-out platform raises a netted bed above the ground for an overnight stay under stars, enclosed by wilderness and silence. The wellness centre at nearby Kapama Karula offers four treatment rooms and African-inspired therapies; spa bookings are made on arrival. Check-in is at 14h00; check-out at 11h00.
