Khaolak Merlin Resort
Set on 15 acres of tropical jungle in Phang Nga province, Khaolak Merlin Resort preserves ancient trees and native rainforest species across grounds supervised by a resident biologist. The property lies ten minutes from Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park and 75 minutes from Phuket International Airport, with direct access to an uncrowded beach facing the Andaman Sea. The resort holds 236 air-conditioned rooms and villas distributed across seven categories, each with a private balcony, satellite television, minibar, and complimentary wireless internet.
Superior rooms measure 37 m² and overlook gardens planted with local rainforest species. Deluxe rooms at 44 m² feature walk-in showers and freestanding baths; ground-floor units open directly onto the Jacuzzi Pool. Premier Natural rooms occupy the densest forest areas and include separate tubs. Garden Pool Access and Waterfall Pool Access rooms provide private patio or balcony entry to dedicated pools; these categories do not accept children 12 and under. One-bedroom pool villas span 131 m² on the beachfront, each with a living room, two bathrooms, pantry, and private 21-m² pool. Two-bedroom villas at 168 m² add a second bedroom with twin beds and a 25-m² pool.
Four outdoor swimming pools serve the property, one with a water slide. The Garden restaurant serves breakfast buffet and à la carte dinner on a terrace overlooking pool and gardens. Veranda Beachside Restaurant offers seafood and Thai dishes in open-air seating. Sunset Hut bar faces the ocean. Merlin Spa provides treatments in a standalone pavilion. A fitness centre, tennis court, and guided wildlife night walks with the biologist operate on-site. Over 200 wildlife species, including 100 bird species, live within the grounds. Wastewater undergoes organic filtration and is reused for irrigation.
