Perfect for Leisure, Nature, Relaxation, Wildlife

Kirawira sits on the Kirawira Plains inside the Western Corridor of Serengeti National Park, a stretch of the park that carries the wildebeest migration west each year. The camp holds twenty-five canvas tents, each set on a platform of log-and-rope construction with a thatch canopy overhead. Inside, beds are dressed in pure cotton linen, and a private balcony faces the plains. The central tent is furnished with chaise longues, Persian rugs, leather-bound travelling cases, and wind-up phonographs — a deliberate Edwardian register that runs through the whole camp.

Game drives go out in the mornings and afternoons with professional guides; night drives are also available. On foot, a resident naturalist leads guided walks through the Western Serengeti's mix of fauna and flora, and separate bird walks cover more than two hundred and forty species recorded in the area. A spa, pool, bar, and restaurant are on site; the kitchen also arranges bush breakfasts and sundowner drinks in the field.

Lake Victoria lies within reach of the camp. From there, guests can join a motorboat cruise to watch fishermen working the water, or travel by traditional canoe to reach a Sukuma fishing village on the shoreline. Cooking lessons, run daily by the camp's chef, cover five-star African dishes. The camp provides complimentary wi-fi, battery charging, and laundry service.
